About Us

MISSION:

To show and share the love of Jesus Christ by providing accessible health care oriented to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the underserved community.

VISION:

“Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 58:8

OUR STORY:

Through a series of divine appointments, Cheryl Thieu and Dawn White met for the first time in 2001. They soon discovered that God had placed a call on both their hearts to provide faith-based health care for the underserved community in the Silicon Valley. Since there was a clinic at City Team Ministries, where Dawn worked, this seemed the logical place to begin.

  • 2002-2003: Other like-minded Christian professionals in the San Jose area joined Cheryl and Dawn. Together, they began to pray for God’s leading and direction for the future.
  • October 9, 2003: The Silicon Valley Christian Health Alliance (SVCHA) incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
  • Fall 2003: The Christian Health Alliance received its first grant, funded by the Compassion Capital Program Collaborative through the Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF), part of President George W. Bush’s Faith-Based Health Care Initiative.
  • June 12, 2004: SVCHA opened its clinic doors for the first time.
  • June 2005: SVCHA celebrated its one-year anniversary by beginning its dental ministry.
  • January 2008: Construction is completed on the second dental room.

Testimonies

"Last week my family (I, Yumi, Noah 8, Naomi 7, and Emi 4) visited the clinic again. We first stopped by Costco to buy some socks."

"The first time I joined the volunteer prayer team was back in September 2008. I was so moved by the women I met from the House of Grace that day."
